Oatmeal doesn’t have to be sweet!! This Savory Jalapeño Oatmeal, proves that oats work for non-sweet breakfasts too. And it’s quick and easy in the Instant Pot making for an easy morning meal.
2/3cupunsweetened oat milk(or your favourite milk or more water)
2jalapeñosdiced and seeds removed
1 1/3cupssteel cut oats
1/2tspkosher salt
1/2tspground pepper
1tspcumin
1/2tsporegano
1/2tspcoriander
1/2tsppaprika
pinchred pepper flakes

avocado
green hot sauce(Trader Joe's Green Dragon Hot Sauce is my favourite!)
Everything But The Bagel Seasoningto taste

Instructions
Add the water, milk (if using), steel cut oats (do not use any other kind of oats), jalapeños and seasonings to your Instant Pot and stir.
Place lid on pressure cooker and set the vent to sealed. Cook on HIGH pressure for 3 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.
Oats may seem runny at first, but they will set-up as they cool a bit.
Spoon into your favourite bowl and top with avocado or toppings of choice. Don't forget the hot sauce and Everything But the Bagel seasoning.
Notes
