This is one of the easiest desserts to make on a boat – only nine ingredients (including water) and one hour of prep and cooking until a warm and delicious dessert is ready.
5apples slicedabout 6 cups, I like to use Granny smith and I don't peel them but that is a personal preference.
1tbspapple cider vinegar
2tbspwater
1tspcinnamon
1/4tspground ginger
1/4tspnutmeg
TOPPING
1 1/4cupsall purpose flour
1/2cupbrown sugar to taste
1/2cupbutter dairy or non dairy
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F
Place apple slices in ungreased baking dish (about 3 quart size)
Mix together vinegar, water, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Pour over apples.
Combine flour and brown sugar in medium bowl. Add butter and mix with hands until topping resembles coarse crumbs.
Spread over apples and press down lightly.
Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes
